For those who don’t work from traditional offices, Blogdowntown had a useful article about wifi locations in the area.
If anyone need suggestions, see my comments on the article:
I usually spend about 2-4 days a week using public wifi spots as an office. Below are the places I’ve been to.
Wifi and power
- Lost Souls: sometimes not working, bad mobile phone coverage (at&t and t-mobile), bad a/c on a hot day
- Lot44 (they finally removed their banner adds)
- Central and Little Tokyo Library (but difficult to talk on the mobile phone without disturbing others)
Places with free wifi, but no power
- Santee Court
- Fiore Little Tokyo (free with purchase, which lasts at least a week)
- Little Tokyo plaza outdoor area – but but coverage is very weak
- 7+ Fig upper outside area
- Ralphs
- Omni Hotel (outside courtyard)

Did anyone else see the notice(s) from the city posted on the retail space on the ground floor, reprimanding the owner for having installed security grates on an historical building without the proper permits, and giving him the option to either remove the grates, or to get the permits? I noticed that the last notice had been removed today.
Was this action taken independently by the city, or was this in response to our board’s request?
