Tom Wudl Studio Classes
Tom Wudl would like to invite everybody interested in checking out his website to learn more about his classes.
The link is www.wudl.net
Classes are held Monday – Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm. Each class meets once a week.
He also has some openings in his evening class held on Tuesdays from 6:30pm to 9:30 pm.
When you go to his website some of the things you will learn about are his methodology for teaching. There are no set projects. Each student works in any medium they chose: painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor, tempera), sculptor, collage, etc.
There is no set experience level. So if you are a beginner or someone who has been painting some time but feels stuck or someone who is trying to put a portfolio together to enter an undergraduate or graduate program.
The day classes break for lunch, after which Tom reads from various art books, journals, biographies, etc. and breaks down the verbiage and then explains who else was working at that time, who was influenced by the work and how a particular artist changed the artworld forever.
I am one of Tom’s students. At this point in my career I help manage his studio and he is my mentor. I have gained so much from studying under him; the least of which is an art history education that is far ahead of any college course offered.
And even if you are not interested in his web site his art work is something to see. (FYI LA Louver is the gallery that represents him.)
Thanks for your time,
Cidney
