Little Tokyo Market Place
I finally got a chance to see the newly rennovated Little Tokyo Market Place, formerly named Mitsuwa Marketplace and closed on January 25, 2009.
My initial thought was a cleaner environment, higher turnover, less expensive vegetables and more people. If you’re trying to save money on your grocery bill, this is definitly worth checking out. Many vegetables have prices that march Central Market with much better quality.
Like Ralph’s, its location is walkable and easily accessible without driving. As a bonus, Beard Papa’s cream puffs are available next door.

My afterthought is that many produce are imported from Mexico and South America, which is how they are able to sell at lower costs. If you’re looking for the organic, fair trade, and local food, farmers markets are the best options.
